Church Collects Thousands Of Meals For Thanksgiving

Last Update: 11/23/2009 10:13 am
The 13th annual "Food Drive Drop Off" kicked off Saturday morning with volunteers at Crossroads Community Church.

The outpouring of support from the church over the years has helped feed hundreds of thousands of families in the Tri-State and in South Africa.

This year's outreach will also help feed 1,000 families in New Orleans.

The church anticipates collecting enough food to provide 240,000 Thanksgiving meals.

Volunteers began dropping off boxes of food this past weekend at the church's Oakley and Mason locations.

Crossroads will distribute boxes to 50 inner-city churches and charities in Cincinnati, who will share the boxes of food with needy families in the community.
