When it comes to being charitable, Cincinnati is among the top cities in the country, according to a new study by Men's Health Magazine.

The magazine ranked 100 major U.S. cities on their charitable spirit during the holiday season for its December 2009 issue.

Cincinnati came in at No. 4.

The top three are Madison, WI, Richmond, VA, and Seattle, WA. Rounding out the top five is Austin, TX.

To determine which cities were the most philanthropic, the magazine factored in who made the largest online charitable donations with data from Convio, a software provider for nonprofits.

The magazine also used the number of donations given to Goodwill in December and the amount collected by the Salvation Army's Red Kettle Campaign.

The last factor the magazine calculated was the number of toys donated to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.

In case you're wondering, Yonkers, NY came in at No. 100.
