Duke Energy wants to show customers its vision of a energy efficient future and Monday is a chance for the public to see it all.

Duke says the changes it has planned for the future will help save the planet and better serve customers.

Last month, a wind storm knocked out power to more than one million customers in the Tri-State.

Some households were without power for nearly a week.

Duke says its intelligent power equipment and digital technology will allow it to handle and respond to future situations more efficiently.

Duke will be displaying the new technology Monday morning at its envision center on Olympic Blvd. in Erlanger, Kentucky.

The center features a movie style studio inside a 10,000 square foot facility that features a smart home with solar panels, plug in hybrid vehicle, and an apartment complex with smart meters that monitor real time conditions.
