Heavy rain and high winds knocked out power to several thousand Tri-State residents Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a Tornado Watch for the entire Tri-State overnight that expired at 3 a.m. Saturday morning.

Chief Meteorologist Steve Raleigh had earlier reported that there would be a chance for pop-up thunderstorms throughout the evening with the possibility of severe weather and that most of the Tri-State would see scattered showers and storms later in the evening and into the overnight hours.

At one point Saturday morning, over 20,000 customers were in the dark in the Tri-State.

As of 12:30 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, there are less than 700 Duke Energy customers in Ohio and Kentucky without power.

Very few Duke Energy customers in Indiana are reporting power outages at this time.

Duke Energy asks anyone who loses power to call (800) 543-5599.

Customers of Owen Electric are asked to call (800) 372-7612 to report an outage.

Report an outage with South Central Power Company or by calling (877) 688-2437.

Duke Energy stresses the importance for people to stay away from downed trees and power lines.
