TERRA CEIA, Fla. -- A reward of $50,000 has been offered by the family of a woman originally from the Tri-State who was murdered in her Florida home.

Kathleen Scrivner Briles grew up in Dayton, Ky., until she moved to Florida in 1982.

Her family said on Wednesday that they aren't taking any chances, and want residents here in the Tri-State to know about the crime in case our area is somehow connected.

Briles' husband, who is a well-respected doctor, found his wife bound and beaten to death on Aug. 3 inside their home in Terra Ceia, Fla., located near Bradenton, south of Tampa.

Briles' family says they hope the reward will bring about justice.
