It may be several days before investigators from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office determine the sequence of events that led to the death of a Brown County woman in a Sunday accident.
The mishap occurred around 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Frisch’s restaurant on Winemiller Lane.
Constance L. Skidmore, 56, of Indian Drive in Lake Waynoka, died when she was pinned between her parked car and a vehicle driven by Brian S. Ellis, 35, of Batavia Township.
Clermont County Sheriff A.J. "Tim" Rodenberg said the preliminary investigation shows Ellis was behind the wheel of a 2002 Dodge pickup truck at the restaurant’s drive-through area when he somehow lost control and struck Skidmore.
At the time she was standing near her vehicle and was in the process of placing her grandchild inside. The child was not hurt.
Skidmore’s sister said Monday that since family members were still traveling to the Tri-State, she didn’t want to make any comments.
Efforts to reach Ellis were not successful.
Frisch’s spokesperson Karen Maier called the mishap unfortunate and tragic, adding that it’s in the hands of police to determine exactly what happened.
Investigators from the Clermont County Sheriff’s Office are being assisted by officers from the Batavia Post of the Ohio Highway Patrol.
Their final report will be reviewed at the Clermont County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if charges are warranted
