Record numbers of violent fugitives are swept off Tri-State streets thanks to a joint effort by federal, state and local police officers.

Operation F.A.L.C.O.N. stands for federal and local cops organized nationally.

For the month of June, officers from different agencies worked together to find violent fugitives.

As a result, their joint efforts lead to the arrests of some of the Tri-State's most wanted.

Deputies with the U.S. Marshals served as the lead agency organizing teams of officers from 26 different police agencies.

9News spent a June day with a Cincinnati team.

Before each search, they held a quick briefing on the wanted suspect.

"You never know what you are going to expect when you go to someone's door especially this early in the morning," said Chris Riley, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal.

At an Over-the-Rhine apartment, officers arrested Sherry Henderson who was wanted on assault.

Their next stop in Madisonville also proved successful as they found Rachel Chandler who was wanted for welfare fraud.

The arrests joined 150 others in Greater Cincinnati throughout June for Operation F.A.L.C.O.N.

"In 2005, Operation Falcon resulted in the arrest of less than 50 criminals and today we celebrate operation falcons success in putting more than 150 criminals behind bars," said Anthony Springer with the U.S. District Attorney's Office.

One high profile case includes the arrest of 18-year-old Eric Long who was wanted for the march double murder that took place on Interstate 75 in Evendale.

During the operation, officers also arrested Julius Trollinger who was wanted for the double shooting on board a Queen City bus.

Across the river in Northern Kentucky, deputies with the US Marshals also made a record number of arrests for their area.

"This is the fifth year we done and it has been the most successful year yet. I believe last year we had 155 arrests. This year we had 175. Hopefully next year we can go over 200," said Gordon Hotchkiss, Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal.

Operation F.A.L.C.O.N. also took place across the country.

The U.S. Marshals office reports 35,000 fugitives arrested nationwide.
