The Hamilton County Commissioner will award grants Monday evening to seven communities to help grow their commercial business districts and encourage economic expansion throughout the county. This is part of their broader effort to stimulate a local economic recovery. The meeting will be held at the Blue Ash Municipal and Safety Center at 7 p.m.
Hamilton County’s Commercial Revitalization Program will support the work in all seven communities.
In each community, the program will lead to market-driven strategies to attract and encourage development, create and retain employment opportunities, and increase commercial traffic in the selected areas. “These revitalization efforts stabilize and improve our communities, create jobs, enhance property values and add to our commercial tax base,” said Commissioner David Pepper. “And they couldn’t be coming at a better time.”
The seven communities chosen and the specific studies include: - Addyston: A business district study to help analyze how the community can diversify its tax base;
- Blue Ash: A site assessment of property on Osborne Boulevard to explore potential development uses;
- Colerain: A site assessment for properties along Colerain Avenue and a business retention and expansion strategy;
- Golf Manor: A Developer Packet which will create a document that the community can use to provide information to potential developers and businesses;
- Harrison: Site Assessment of properties in the Harrison Avenue corridor to determine redevelopment options for certain sites;
- Lockland: Site Assessment of certain properties in the Village to determine redevelopment options;
- Sharonville: A site assessment and business district study of the State Route 42 and Main Street areas, respectively.
