Hundreds Attend Williams Brothers Benefit

Last Update: 11/26/2009 1:00 am
WILDER, Ky. -- As we all prepare to remember what we're thankful for, a local family is raising money in memory of the ones it has lost.

Hundreds came together in Wilder Wednesday night to support the "Kenny & Brian Williams Fund."

Kenny, a Covington Catholic football star, died in1994 from a head injury.

His brother Brian, also a stand-out athlete for Cov-Cath, died in the North tower of the World Trade Center.

The money raised helps support other Northern Kentucky families facing tragic losses, as well as Cov-Cath students.

“For Ken and Kate Williams – Brian and Kenny's mom and dad – I mean it's a labor of love,” said Jack Lenihan. “And for them, so many people helped them when Brian and Kenny passed away, that they just want to do the same thing.”

Over the last eight years the fund has raised nearly $750,000 and helped more than 60 families.
