A large manufacturing firm is considering a move to the Tri-State and it could bring up to 600 new jobs.
An industrial site in Monroe is one of the areas being considered.
At Sara Jane's Restaurant in Monroe, business could use a good boost. The owner has noticed the struggles customers are facing due to the economy.
"More credit card sales have increased. Instead of doing 8 or $9,000 a month in credit cards, its now jumped to 14, 15 thousand in credit cards, so its almost doubled," said Elan Mousa, Sara Jane's Restaurant Owner.
Now, a corn field in Monroe could be the key to turning the city's dreams into a reality.
Officials tell 9News a large manufacturing firm from outside the country is considering coming to the Corridor 75 park in Monroe.

HelioSphera, a solar panel manufacturer from Greece but Warren County officials say its too early in the process to confirm the name.
Ohio officials have spearheaded the project.
"With the help of the state government, through the federal government, to create hundreds of new jobs here in Ohio around solar energy," said Representative Steve Driehaus of Ohio.
However, the company is also looking at a number of other sites. For Monroe, the jobs would generate much needed tax revenue for the area as the demand for jobs is on the rise.
Earlier this month, thousands turned out for a job fair at Monroe High School to apply for 800 positions at the new outlet mall opening later this summer.
"Hopefully it will bring in more traffic, more customers, and that's what we are looking for. We'll keep our fingers crossed, business will get better hopefully soon," said Mousa.
Monroe officials are expecting to hear an update on the project sometime in the next four to six weeks.
