Living Green: Go Green, Recycle In Hamilton Co.

Last Update: 3/19/2008 6:53 pm

Web produced by: Neil Relyea

Next week Channel 9 will present a special program about companies and governments with special environmental programs they want you to know about.

The Hamilton County Department of Environmental Services solid waste division wants to remind you that recycling is a "loop" – not a straight line.

As you may know, items such as paper, glass, plastic and aluminum cans can be recycled.

But you might want to consider purchasing recycled products such as carpet, insulation, office paper and clothing.

If you are a Hamilton County resident and interested in learning more about recycling, call the Hamilton County Department of Environmental Services at (513) 946-7777 or toll-free at (800) 889-0474 (Ohio only).

Or go online to check out HCDES' recycling and "green" initiatives, including the "Go Green Challenge" on their website.

Also, don't forget to watch WCPO's "Living Green" special next week for more information on how you can make things "greener."

It airs at 9 p.m. Wednesday, March 26.
