COLERAIN Twp. -- A man was crushed between the cab and the dump portion of a dump truck Saturday after attempting to fix a problem with the truck.
It happened at Rumpke Landfill located at 3700 Struble Road at 11:16 a.m.
The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office says that a private contractor was dumping roofing debris from the back of his dump truck when the dump portion of the truck became stuck in the up position.
The man then crawled between the bed of the dump truck and the frame in an attempt to fix the problem. The dump then broke free and came down on the victim, crushing him.
Colerain Township EMS and Fire responded and removed the man from the truck. He was trapped for 21 minutes before being freed.
The victim was transported to University Hospital by medical helicopter where he is listed in serious condition.
