CAMP LEJEUNE, N.C. -- A Marine from Hamilton whose body was found near his barracks at Camp Lejeune died from blows to the head.

Officials at Camp Lejeune released autopsy results in the death of Cpl. Joshua E. Hartzell on Tuesday. The 22-year-old was found Friday in the woods at the base.

Camp Lejeune officials arrested 21-year-old Pvt. Johnathan Law of Nevada. He was found in his barracks with apparently self-inflicted wounds.

Law was treated at a hospital and is now in pretrial confinement.

9News spoke with Hartzell's family on Monday. They say Joshua talked to his mother just hours before he was murdered and that he was fine.

The military has not released any other details surrounding his death.

"He had so much honor and he just represented such a good person and every man should want to be like him," said Hartzell's sister Rebecca Lumpkin.

Corporal Hartzell graduated from Ross High School in 2006. According to family and friends, he always had a smile on his face. He wrestled at Ross High School. He liked to go fishing. He didn't say bad words and they say he would never break rules. He inspired his brother, Private First Class Matthew Hartzell, to join the army.

"This week's been horrible for families of people in the military," said Robbe, referring to her brother's murder and the shootings at Ft. Hood.

Funeral details have not been worked out yet, although the family does plan to hold it locally.
