Montgomery Police are warning residents about an increase in coyote sightings.

On Sunday a resident on Pfeiffer Road reported that his small dog was attacked by a group of coyotes.

Police say although it's the first reported attack in Montgomery, several neighboring communities have reported sightings and similar attacks.

Residents are asked to accompany their small pets outside, and don't leave food outside for them.

Police say if you spot a coyote, make noise and wave your arms because the animals are naturally timid and will usually flee.

If you live in Montgomery and see a coyote in your neighborhood, call the Montgomery Police at (513) 985-1600.
