A local flight attendant is being honored for her work to support our troops.
Delta flight attendant Robin Schmidt of Covington was this Friday featured on ABC's World News Tonight as the ‘Person of the Week.’
In the last seven years, Schmidt has distributed journals at work for passengers to write messages she sends to the soldiers.
Schmidt says after 9/11, she wanted to do whatever she could to support the men and women fighting for our country.
"For me this isn't about war, it's not about politics. It's about honoring and absolutely saluting the soldiers for their sacrifices that they make every single day,” Schmidt said.
Schmidt has adopted 73 soldiers in the last seven years - and has made a lot of grateful friends in the process.
