NFL 'haves' will populate rookie camps this weekend, including the Bengals.
'Haves' as in guys who 'have' draft worthy skills. Then there are the 'have nots'. 21 guys who didn't have enough skills to warrant being picked last weekend, will get their shot at Paul Brown Stadium starting Friday.
But in reality, what chance do they stand against well represented, well funded, overly hyped guys? The kind who will get a welcome, as opposed to something akin to a blanket invitation.
Doesn't matter to them. I've asked over the years and regardless of the long odds, this is all they want; a chance. And several of them have additional incentive, as the Bengals are their hometown team.
Rico Murray and Eric Thatcher played at Moeller High School. Will Nolte is an Indian Hill product. Taft High is represented by Pernell Phillips. Lakota West graduate Steve Rehring will be there as well.
Along with two more UC Bearcats. Linebackers Ryan Manalac and Torry Cornett will along with 6 teammates drafted last weekend, get a chance of their own.
Will any of them make it? Doesn't matter to them, so why should it matter to us. Its their dream afterall. Good luck guys.
