WARSAW, Ky. -- Repairs on the locks at the Markland Dam took a big step forward Monday.
A crane lowered a new gate into place.
Two weeks ago the 250-ton gate broke and fell into the Ohio River, slowing barge traffic.
The new gate will get river traffic moving smoothly again.
