FLORENCE, Ky. -- One man is dead after a car collided with a TANK bus Saturday morning.
The accident happened around 9 a.m. at Turfway Road and Dixie Highway.
Police say a black Mitsubishi driven by Matthew Thomas collided with the back of a TANK bus that was stopped at a bus stop next to the post office with its flashers on.
Thomas, 21, was pronounced dead on the scene and was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt.
The TANK bus was driven by Nicholas Dilbert and two passengers were on board. No one on the bus was injured.
The accident remains under investigation and it is unclear why Thomas struck the back of the bus.
