NORWOOD, Ohio -- Former Vice Presidential candidate and Alaska Governor Sarah Palin was busy signing hundreds of autographs of her new book, "Going Rogue", at the Rookwood Pavilion Friday afternoon.
Just before noon, she came down the stairs from a second floor balcony at the Joseph Beth Booksellers store to greet over 1,000 supporters who waited several hours to see her. She told the crowd she was glad they were all there, and she'd continue to "speak the truth" about politics, if they would continue to support her.
She is sequestered in a small portion of the business and computer book section of the bookstore, signing up to two copies of her book per person.
Supporters started lining up outside the bookstore as early as 7 a.m. hoping to solidify their places in line even though the bookstore had sold out all book signing places several days ago. Book holders were given line tickets to help determine the order in which they would go up to the balcony to see the political celebrity.
Among the supporters who spent the morning waiting was Holly Burns of Mason. Burns tells 9News she was there because she likes what Palin has to say and wants to support her. "I admire her. She gets the support of common people because she's a common person, herself."
Another supporter came dressed as a revolutionary soldier, urging support for Palin and what he referred to as a needed 'revolution' in American government and politics.
Palin spend the morning with Tri-State Republican donors and leaders at an invitation only reception at an undisclosed location. The reception was reportedly to benefit her political action group, SarahPAC.
The former governor signed books until 3 p.m. before she left for Columbus. Traffic around Rookwood Pavilion and Madison and Edwards Roads in Hyde Park and Norwood will continue to be busy until well after the book signing is over.
While Palin was inside the bookstore, her book signing bus, complete with a larger than life picture of her and the book title, "Going Rogue", was waiting for her and her entourage behind the First Watch Restaurant.
