Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer and running back Cedric Benson were named as the FedEx Air and Ground NFL Players of the Week on Friday.
Palmer threw for 233 yards and five touchdowns in Cincinnati's 45-10 win over the Chicago Bears last Sunday. He completed 20 out of 24 passes and led the Bengals to scoring drives their first seven possessions.
Benson ran for a career high 189 yards on 33 carries and one touchdown against his former team.
Because Palmer and Benson won the awards, FedEx will make a $2,000 donation to the Safe Kids coalitions in Cincinnati to support pedestrian safety improvements.
The Bengals, who are tied for first place in the AFC North, have a bye this week before they host the Baltimore Ravens next Sunday. They are still tickets available for that game at 1 p.m.
