MASON, Oh -- An investigation is underway after a pedestrian was hit and killed along northbound I-71 in Mason Wednesday morning.
Police say a person was hit by a tractor trailer north of the Western Row Road exit around 9:30 a.m.
Crews previously closed the northbound lanes of the interstate between
Kings Mills Road and
Kings Island Drive. As of 2 p.m., all lanes of the interstate are open.
A medical helicopter was called to the scene but was canceled after the injuries were determined to be fatal.
Police have not release any other information.
