CINCINNATI -- A pedestrian was killed when he was struck by a car that had just been involved in an accident Saturday afternoon in South Fairmont.
The accident happened around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection of Grand and Western Avenue.
Police say Samira Abebe-Holt allegedly ran a red light and struck a car driven by Stephene Gilmore Jr.
Abebe-Holt's vehicle left the roadway and struck Matthew Ash, who was walking on the sidewalk.
Abebe-Holt's vehicle then struck a fence and turned on its left side before coming to a stop.
Ash was pronounced dead on the scene.
Abebe-Holt was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. She was not wearing a seatbelt.
Gilmore Jr. was not injured in the crash.
A passenger of Gilmore Jr.'s car, Timothy Coleman, and a passenger of Abebe-Holt's car, Janay Evans, were minorly injured, but refused treatment on the scene.
Police closed down both roads for a period of time.
The crash is still under investigation.
