Sharonville -- It's Pet ID Day in Hamilton County Saturday.

Pet owners are encouraged to get their 2010 Hamilton County dog licenses, if you do, you can get a free rabies shot for your pet Saturday.

This offer is available only on December 5 at the SPCA's Cincinnati Humane Center at 11900 Conrey Road in Sharonville.

Licenses are on sale from December 5 through January 31, 2010.

The price is $19.75. However, the price will double in February.

Dog owners who do not get a license for their dog could face a fine.

Ohio law states every dog over three months of age must have a license by January 31.

Rabies shots are also free for cats with a small donation.

Cats do not have to be licensed in the State of Ohio.

The SPCA is also offering a discount for microchip implantations.

Microchipping and registration for one cat or dog is $15, a savings of around $60.

The SPCA encourages microchipping to help your pet return home, if they're ever lost and returned to an animal shelter.
