With the announcement of retirement by Republican Senator George Voinovich, Ohio voters are wondering who will run for the US Senate in 2010.
Rob Portman will formally announce Wednesday whether he will be a candidate in 2010, and try to win the seat being vacated by Voinovich.
The Terrace Park resident didn't tip his hand Tuesday about his intentions, but did say public service is his life.
Portman has served as Ohio's 2nd District U.S. Congressman, U.S. Trade Representative and Director of the White House Office of Management and Budget.
Voinovich announced Monday he will not seek a third term in the U.S. Senate, bringing to an end a political career that has spanned 44 years.
The Senator and Portman had dinner Monday night and Portman had nothing but praise for Voinovich's tenure serving the people of Ohio.
