LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) -- Prosecutors say a high school football coach charged with reckless homicide in the heat-related death of a player changed the practice routine and added sprints without water breaks at the end of the session on a hot day.
Jefferson County Commonwealth's Attorney David Stengel summarized the case against Pleasure Ridge Park High School coach David Jason Stinson in a court filing that accompanied more than 1,000 pages of statements from Stinson, players and parents.
Stinson has pleaded not guilty to reckless homicide in the Aug. 23 death of sophomore lineman Max Gilpin, who collapsed at practice three days earlier.
A Stinson attorney, Alex Dathorne, said Tuesday he is still reviewing the statements.
