If you're trying to fight that smoking habit, then Channel 9 is on your side with some assistance.
WCPO is teaming up with the American Cancer Society to offer free advice on getting rid of those cigarettes.
We're calling it the Great American Smokeout Phone Bank.
Viewers can get expert advice and tips on how to quit smoking by calling the phone bank.
It takes place Thursday evening between the hours of 4 and 7 p.m. WCPO will update the web site with a number later in the day.
The Great American Smokeout is a national effort, in which the entire country is being asked to take time to tackle smoking.
It's meant to be a reminder that smoking tobacco can be detrimental to your health,
as well as the health of others through secondhand smoke.
Smokers are encouraged to pick a "quit" day in the near future. You can learn more about the Great American Smokeout by going to the American Cancer Society's
web site.
