The Cincinnati Reds have received an honor for their recycling efforts at the Great American Ball Park.

Hamilton County Environmental Services notes that the G.A.B.P. has increased its plastic and glass recycling this year.

The award the club is getting is the John Van Volkenburgh Award.

Employees in the front office have been recycling paper. Concession workers have also saved used cooking oil so it can be turned into bio-diesel fuel.

The club also turns grass clippings from the field into fertilizer, and use environmentally-friendly laundry detergents and cleaners.
