The Reds have kicked off their annual Success Summer Baseball League with a record number of kids participating.
The League is a joint venture between the Reds Community Fund, the Cincinnati Recreation Commission and Tri-Health.
Kids get to spend time with Reds players and staff while learning about baseball and positive character traits.
In addition, each child gets a free medical screening from the Tri-Health staff.
"It's a very high quality program. Kids get all sorts of experiences, “said Charley Frank, executive director of the Reds Community Fund, “Reds games, math and science programs, they get the medical screening complimentary, free transportation. So, we're more about the quality of this program than the quantity, although we are over 1,500 kids now."
The program continues for the next six weeks at various locations.
