Last Update: 9/09 12:59 am
VEVAY, Ind. -- Police in Switzerland County say a pickup truck driver could not stop for traffic in time, apparently leading to a crash with another car and a school bus Tuesday morning.

It happened at approximately 7:50 a.m. at the intersection of State Road 156 and Tapps Ridge Road, near Vevay, Ind.

Police say the truck driven by 63-year-old Ted Frost, of Cambridge City, Ind. could not stop in time without rear-ending a car that had stopped in front of his truck.

Witnesses tell police he swerved into oncoming traffic and that's when the truck hit the school bus.

There were 36 children on board. Six were taken to Kings Daughters' Hospital with minor injuries. All were treated and released.

Frost was trapped for about 10 minutes in the truck before firefighters could free him.

He's undergoing surgery for injuries suffered in the crash, but none of his injuries are believed to be life-threatening.

So far, police have not cited anyone in connection with the crash. ‘

Anyone with information that might help with the investigation is asked to call the Switzerland County Sheriff's Office at (812) 427-3636.
