FALMOUTH, Ky. -- Several students suffered injuries after a truck and school bus collided in Falmouth Tuesday afternoon.
The accident happened on US 27 near Robbins Avenue in Pendleton County short ly before 4:30 p.m.
9News is told 29 students were on the bus and included one elementary student, one middle school student and the rest were high school students.
Multiple medical helicopters transported victims from the scene.
Ten students were taken to nearby hospitals. 9News was told the students' injuries are considered non-life threatening.
A witness told 9News she believed people inside the truck were seriously injured, however it was learned later that the driver of the truck was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
9News was told by the school superintendent that the driver of the school bus was a substitute driver.
The driver of the school bus and the driver of the truck are both being drug-tested.
9News spoke with a relative of a victim at Children's Hospital who says a 17-year-old girl was being treated.
Police have not released any other details.
