Southern State Community College in Hillsboro will begin searching for a new president next week.
The current president, Sherry Stout, will retire from the two-year college at the end of the year in order to spend more time with her family.
Stout has been with the college since 1975 and became president two years ago.
The board will meet next Tuesday to begin the search process.
