People who received a Hepatitis "A" shot after eating at PF Chang's in West Chester during a health scare may want to get their second dose of the vaccine. The Butler County Health Department sent letters to everyone who received the first dose through the agency that the second dose is now available.
PF Chang's set up a vaccine clinic after a person with Hepatitis "A" worked at the restaurant in March. Health officials say the second dose is not necessary. Officials say the first dose protects you from potential exposure at the restaurant.
"The second dose is only a boost for your immune system so you have a lasting immunity throughout your life," said Tricia Anglin, of the Butler County Health Department. "So if you end up in a situation (like the one at PF Chang's) again you will have the lasting immunity so you won't have to worry about the exposure at that point," she said.
The second dose is $50 at the Butler County Health Department. Health officials say the restaurant is not paying for it because it is not necessary.
