ALEXANDRIA, Ky. -- Soldiers from Alexandria's Adopted Military Unit spent Tuesday visiting Campbell County schools.
Capt. Nathan Minott and his fellow soldiers with the 101st Airborne out of Fort Campbell came to Campbell Ridge Elementary School in Alexandria to thank students for supporting them while they served overseas in Iraq.
"We want to thank you for that and encourage you guys to do that as we may or may not deploy in the future OK," said Minott.
The soldiers from Charlie Battery, 2-44 Air Defense Artillery Regiment, are awaiting word about whether or not they'll be going to Afghanistan.
Spc. Stephanie Griffin visited Bishop Brossart to talk about a soldier's life. She's preparing for her second deployment.
"You have to get your mind straight. Your mind, body and soul. It's a whole body thing you got to get ready for a deployment. It takes a lot from you," she said.
To help ease the stress, organizer's with "Charlies Angels" alexandria's military support group say they'll continue to be there for the soldiers.
"It's just a blessing to have a community like this help us when we are deployed because those care packages and everything they send it really means something and it brings the morale of the soldiers up big time," said Griffin.
The City of Alexandria is accepting supplies or cash donations for their adopted military unit.
To make a donation, go to the city building located at 8236 West Main St., or call (859) 635-4125.
