7:12p.m.--I knew it would happen. The Bengals just let the Raiders stick around too long. The Raiders drove the ball in the final two minutes and scored a touchdown on a 29-yard pass from Bruce Gradkowski to Louis Murphy. Morgan Trent got turned around...then Murphy leaned on him and fell into the endzone. :33 left in the fourth quarter.Then on the kickoff...Andre Caldwell fumbled and the Raiders recovered. :27 to go...the Raiders are about to pull off an upset.
6:58p.m.--We've hit the two minute warning and this game still isn't over. The Bengals gave up the ball on downs with 2:12 to go. Oakland has taken over at their own 20 yard line. A short pass has advanced it to the 26, then came the two minute warning. 17-10 Bengals.
6:48p.m.--Big Big play for the Bengals. Oakland had just taken over at the Cincinnati-43. But on first down, Jonathan Fanene made Bruce Gradkowski unload. He threw it short of the receiver and Johnathan Joseph made the interception. It's being challenged, but I think it will stand. Bengals have the ball at their own 21 with 6:01 to go. 17-10 Bengals.
6:33p.m--The Bengals are determined to give away this game. They moved the ball to the Raiders 14 yard line at which point they gave the ball to Jeremi Johnson. He pounded the ball for a few yards and then fumbled. The Raiders have it at their own 15.
6:27p.m.-We're at the end of three quarters in Oakland. On the final play of the quarter, Carson Palmer connected with Laveranues Coles on a 40-yard pass play to the Raiders 36. Tough Catch. Chris Johnson was right on him. First down for the Bengals at the Raiders 36 as the fourth quarter begins. 17-10 Bengals.
6:20p.m.--Domata Peko just went to the Bengals locker room. The Bengals says he has a right knee injury and his return is questionable.
6:15p.m.--The Bengals just got three points back on a field goal by Shayne Graham. The Bengals got the ball on a Michael Bush fumble. Dhani Jones knocked the snot out of him, Robert Geathers picked up the football and ran it to the Oakland 13. They Bengals moved it to the six, and from there Graham kicked the three-pointer. 17-10 Bengals with 3:30 left in the third quarter.
5:55p.m.--Sebastian Janikowski has just kicked a 52-yard field goal early in the third quarter for the Raiders. He had tried two 57-yarders at the end of the second quarter, but one was wide right and the other was wide left. It's 14-10 Bengals with 9:59 left in the third quarter. The Bengals have to clean up their play. In the first half, they got tagged with six penalties, the Raiders none.
5:35p.m.-It's halftime in Oakland with the Bengals leading the Raiders 14-7. Both Andrew Whitworth and Bernard Scott didn't play a lot in the second quarter, but Bengals PR boss Jack Brennan reports that both are fine.
6:12p.m-Bengals just got the ball back. Dhani Jones forced a fumble and Robert Geathers picked it up and ran it back to the Oakland 13.
6:10p.m.--We just got a look at the Old Bengals. They made a nice drive down to the Raiders six where it appeared that things had stalled. But Stanford Routt roughed Carson Palmer and the Bengals had a first and goal at the three. On third and goal from the two, Routt was left unblocked and he sacked Palmer back at the 18. Then Shayne Graham missed a 37 yard field goal. 14-10 Bengals with 5:00 left in the third quarter.
A wasted opportunity.
5:25p.m.--The Raiders have scored with about a minute to go in the first half. The Raiders went 71 yards in nine plays, with Bruce Gradkowski throwing to Zach Miller on a ten yard touchdown play. :59 left in the first half, it's 14-7 Bengals.
5:00p.m. -- The Bengals have scored on their first possession of the second quarter. They lead by two touchdowns. The Bengals got the ball on a fumble by quarterback Bruce Gradkowski. Dhani Jones made the recovery at the Bengals 32-yard line. An end-around by Andre Caldwell picked up 15 yards, a run by Brian Leonard got eleven more. Leonard ran the final yard for the touchdown. 7:12 left in the second quarter. The Bengals lead 14-0. The drive was 68 yards on nine plays and lasted just over five minutes.
4:40 p.m. -- The Bengals have gone 78 yards on their first possesion of the game. Key plays included a 23-yard screen pass to Bernard Scott and a 34-yard pass to Chad Ocho Cinco. Carson Palmer didn't find a receiver and he ran one yard for the touchdown. Bengals 7-0 with 5:32 left in the first quarter. The drive lasted a whopping 9:28
4:10 p.m. -- It's very cloudy but pleasant in Oakland as the Raiders get ready to play the Bengals. I hope the crowd improves because this stadium isn't even half full five minutes before kickoff. They just sang the national anthem and the crowd was yelling nasty things two lines into the presentation.The Bengals have won the toss and will receive the kickoff.
