CRESTVIEW HILLS, Ky. -- Alex Lachman put a 43 yard field goal through the uprights to end Thomas More College's Division III playoff run Saturday at the Bank of Kentucky Field, as they lost to Johns Hopkins 31-29.

Thomas More had scored just 50 seconds earlier to put them up by one, but a missed two point conversion kept Johns Hopkins in it.

A nine play, 44 yard drive followed and Johns Hopkins kicked a field goal as time expired to give them the win.

Thomas More had been down 21-3 at halftime, but their comeback fell just a few points short, missing both two point conversion tries on their fourth quarter touchdowns.

The stat sheets show the teams being almost even in every category, except for turnovers. Johns Hopkins threw four interceptions to keep Thomas More in the game, but it wasn't enough.

Johns Hopkins moves on to the quarterfinal round of the Division III football playoffs next Saturday while Thomas More's season ends with an 11-1 record.
