PHILADELPHIA (AP) -- Chase Utley hit his fifth homer of the World Series, tying Reggie Jackson's record for the most in one Fall Classic.
Utley connected off Phil Coke in the seventh inning, giving the Philadelphia Phillies a 7-2 lead over the New York Yankees in Game 5 on Monday night. Utley hit a three-run shot in the first inning off A.J. Burnett.
He is the second player to have two multihomer games in a World Series. Willie Aikens of Kansas City did it against the Phillies in 1980.
Utley hit three solo shots off CC Sabathia, two in the opener and one in Game 4.
Jackson hit five homers for the Yankees in 1977 against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Mr. October hit three in New York's clinching victory in Game 6.
