Winton Woods Advances, So Does Wyoming

Four local football squads, two from Ohio and two from Kentucky, have advanced to the state semi-finals.

Winton Woods dominated Trotwood-Madison 28-7 to win the Division II Regional at Mason.

Undefeated Wyoming beat Springfield Shawnee 14-7 to claim the Division III Regional at Welcome Stadium in Dayton.

The Highlands Bluebirds have rolled to the state semi-finals in Kentucky's Class 5A.  The Bluebirds doubled Johnson Central 42-21 as Austin Collinsworth rushed for 159 yards and scored three touchdowns.

Beechwood advanced in Class 1A, with a 41-20 victory over Bellevue.

Ousted Friday night was Simon Kenton in Class 6A, who lost to Louisville St. Xavier 48-34.  Newport Central Catholic was eliminated by DeSales in Class 2A 23-10.
