A woman is in the hospital after she was struck by a vehicle while walking in Hartwell Wednesday morning.
The victim was struck while crossing in a crosswalk at the intersection of
West Galbraith Road and Vine Street around 6 a.m.
The woman reportedly hit her head on the pavement and rescue crews transported her to the hospital for treatment. Officials say she was talking and walking around after the accident, and is expected to be okay.
According to police, the car was not driving very fast at the time, which may have prevented more serious injuries.
The victim's name has not been released.
