Zimmer Chrysler Jeep is a family business that goes back three generations.

On Thursday, owner and general manager John Zimmer learned that they are also on the list of dealerships that Chrysler plans to close.

Zimmer says that at least 65 families depend on them since they operate five different businesses under one roof including new cars, used cars, financing, service/parts and body shop.

The closure of the dealership would have a ripple effect on the local economy.

"Since the downturn of the automobile industry occurred approximately a year ago, we have not let anybody go from my dealership and so we really feel to take a dealership that is still profitable and represents their product in a great location is really, something must be different in how they figured I need to be on that list," says Zimmer.

He says they are now looking into fighting the closure in bankruptcy court.

Since the news broke, the phones here at Zimmer Chrysler Jeep have been ringing off the hook.

They are setting up a section on their Web site for customers to post their support in order to show Chrysler.
