Our beautiful stretch of weather is about to come to an end, but only for a couple days. A late-season winter storm over the Central and Southern Plains is headed for the Tri-State, but unlike our neighbors to the west, we'll see rain.
Clouds will increase late tonight and skies will be mostly cloudy on Sunday with perhaps only a little filtered sunshine. Showers will begin to move into the Tri-State by late in the afternoon from southwest to northeast. It may hold off for some areas until Sunday evening. Rain will then linger through Sunday night and much of the day on Monday before tapering off. We may even see a few thunderstorms late Sunday night and early Monday morning as the front begins to move in.
It'll still be unseasonably mild on Sunday with highs in the mid 60s, but with the clouds and rain around on Monday, it will be much cooler with highs in only the low 50s. We'll get right back into the sunshine on Tuesday and it will last into Thursday. The mercury will warm into the upper 50s on Tuesday and then low to mid 60s on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Tri-State will be impacted by another storm system Thursday night and Friday. It appears we'll be on the northern edge of the disturbance, but just close enough that we'll like see a few rain showers during the period. Temperatures will drop off into the mid 50s Friday and Saturday.
