Tri-State residents are cleaning up after severe weather hit hard overnight, bringing down barns and trees and damaging homes.
The heavy rain and wind that swept through the Tri-State Tuesday evening was especially hard on the residents of the small Northern Kentucky town of Tollesboro.
Tollesboro is located southeast of Cincinnati about 25 minutes from Maysville near the AA Highway in Lewis County.
The storm damaged several homes and properties in the area as it rolled through around 9:30 p.m.
Officials say wind knocked a trailer off its foundation along Craykraft Road.
The Lewis County Sheriff's Department says no one was injured, and the family is still able to live in the home.
Two barns containing hay and farm equipment were also destroyed along Kentucky 10.
Trees and mailboxes were tossed around, and roof shingles were torn off several homes.
The National Weather Service is investigating the storm and may send a crew to Tollesboro Wednesday to determine if a tornado touched down in the area.
As these Northern Kentucky residents work to clean up from the storm overnight, the Tri-State is not in the clear from stormy weather just yet.
Meteorologist Steve Norris says Wednesday will be another cloudy day with scattered showers and a chance of more thunderstorms in the afternoon.
The good news is the skies should be dry at least through the morning commute, but watch out for some patchy dense fog as you head out the door.
As the showers and thunderstorms end Wednesday, temperatures will be warming up behind it over the next several days to become warm and muggy. Highs by Friday will be near 90 degrees.
