CINCINNATI - History will be hitting the big screen and two local men actually lived the drama.

Springdale Cinemas will host a special preview of "Red Tails" Thursday at 7 p.m. The movie is about the Tuskegee Airmen during World War II.

Friends Herb Heilbrun and John Leahr were both pilots during the war. The two will be honored Thursday.

Leahr was part of the Tuskegee Airmen, a group African-American pilots, navigators, and mechanics during WWII. Leahr logged more than 1,000 hours flying military planes, half of them in combat operations.

"Red Tails" opens nationwide Friday.
