SAN FRANCISCO - Should sugar be treated like alcohol or cigarettes? Researchers at the University Of California-San Francisco think so.
They say it’s like poison, and should be treated as such, according to the information released Wednesday. They claim it’s too easy to abuse and it can be deadly.
The researchers want the government to place stricter controls over the substance. Also, they said taxes should be placed on it and there should be restrictions on where you can buy it.
The researchers are even proposing the government not allow anyone to buy high sugar content foods with food stamps.
