Check your child's handwriting. Now check his or her report card.
Researchers at Florida International University say the two are closely related.
They've studied the handwriting of more than 3,000 students and found that how well they learned to write had a big impact on their future success in school.
Pre-school students with good grades in handwriting had better grades, and better scores on standardized tests by second grade.
Researchers still haven't found a reason why good handwriting results in good grades.
