A new study shows a growing number of kids aren't using sunscreen on a regular basis, despite high rates of sunburns.

While 50 percent of the kids said they used sunscreen at the beginning of the study, that number dropped to 25 percent three years later. And of that same group of children, 50 percent of them had sunburns before age 11.

Researchers suggest studying new ways to promote sun protection. The full report is out in the journal Pediatrics this morning and can be read here or by going to http://pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/early/2012/01/18/peds.2011-0104.abstract?sid=2f9134a1-9aa9-49a5-9a28-dbfa8abbc294 .
