COLD SPRING, Ky. - The Campbell County Library and the Disabled Veterans Outreach Program teamed up with Kentucky One Stop to host a job fair at the library Friday. The program will begin promptly at 1 p.m. and continue until about 4 p.m.
"We're hoping a lot of people will connect with employers today and get a job from that," said the adult services librarian at the Cold Spring Branch, Janet Arno. "They've been here before and we had more than 300 people turn out for that."
According to the local veterans representative with the Northern Kentucky One Stop, Ken Wocher, nearly 3,000 veterans were invited to come and learn of job opportunities from construction to clerical and customer service to transportation, from 19 companies.
"We sent out automated telephone calls and emails to let them know about this event," Wocher said. "We publicized this one a lot more. So we could have about 500 people show up."
About 100 companies have signed up for the next job fair. That is scheduled at the Drawbridge Inn on March 28 at 2477 Royal Drive, Fort. Mitchell, Ky.
