ATLANTA - Lessons a 7-year-old girl learned from her parents helped save her from a kidnapper in an Atlanta Walmart.

Security cameras show a man tried to kidnap Brittney Baxter from a Walmart store, but the girl said she escaped because of the things her parents taught her about strangers and Stranger Danger.

"Yeah, I was just like trying to do like this and kick as hard as I can," said Brittney, who was toy shopping when a man grabbed her, tried to put his hand over her mouth and take her out the store.

The man, later identified as 25-year-old Thomas Woods, dropped Brittney and ran out of the Walmart. Police wasted no time in looking at Walmart's surveillance video. It not only captured the chilling incident, it also captured the Woods' getaway car which was later pulled over.

Police said Woods had recently been released from state prison. Woods matched the video, but denied being in Walmart. He told reporters after he was arrested, "I didn't bother nobody, I was never there."

He was later charged with attempted kidnapping.

Brittney's parents are happy she remembered her Stranger Danger training.

"If this can help save another kid, then that would help save somebody else," Georgeann Baxter said.

And little Brittney shared the advice she put into action, "You try to get away and go tell somebody that you trust."
