BROOKINGS, S.D. - Leon Bush, 86, of Brookings, S.D., died Thursday, June 10 at his home.

He was an associate professor in the Animal Science Department of South Dakota State University, a consultant to Iran and served with U.S. Aid at Botswana Agricultural College in Gaborone, Botswana. He also was a member Phi Kappa Phi, Alpha Zeta and the American Society of Animal Science and served in the Army Corps of Engineers.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Wood; sons, David Bush of Loveland, Colo., and John Bush of Mitchell, S.D.; daughters, Margaret Bush of Brookings and Patricia Bush of Mitchell, S.D.; sisters, Ruth Figgins, Jane Bush and Alma Bush of Brooksville.; and three grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, at First United Methodist Church in Brookings, S.D. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, June 14 at Eidsness Funeral Home in Brookings, S.D.

Memorials are suggested to First Methodist Church in Brookings or Brookings Habitat for Humanity.
