Pedestrian struck and killed in Union Twp.

UNION TWP., Ohio - A pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle in Union Township Monday night.

The incident happened around 10:20 p.m. on US 22 at milepost 7, just west of Mitchell Road in Clinton County.

The Wilmington post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol says Brooke D. Morris, 19, of Wilmington, was traveling westbound on US 22 in a 2005 Saturn Ion at the same time David W. Tuggle, 45, of Blanchester, was walking westbound on US 22. Tuggle was walking in the roadway and was struck by the Saturn, according to police.

Tuggle was pronounced dead at the scene. Morris was not hurt, and no charges have been filed.

Officials say speed is not a factor. The incident remains under investigation.
