WILMORE, Ky. - An Asbury University student from Northern Kentucky died after collapsing during a rugby game on campus in Wilmore just months before he was set to graduate.

Jessamine County Coroner Michael Hughes told the Lexington Herald-Leader that 24-year-old Jeff McMillan of Florence, Ky. collapsed at about 1:25 p.m. EDT Saturday and was pronounced dead a short time later at St. Joseph Jessamine in Nicholasville.

Hughes said the cause of death appeared to be natural, but autopsy results would include a determination.

The university, on its website, confirmed McMillan's death.

University spokesman Brad Johnson said the 1,700 students of the private non-denominational Christian school were scheduled to celebrate McMillan's life during a chapel service at 10 a.m. EDT Monday in Hughes Auditorium.

A memorial service will be scheduled later this week in Florence.
